Basic Compounds – Many topics involve basic elements, like sodium, potassium, and calcium. These elements can be formed in different ways. This type of question is very common.
That is because these substances can either be combined to create different compounds, or they can be simply altered in various ways to make the reactions necessary for conducting ionization experiments. You should expect to see several examples of the basic compounds listed.
Molecules – You will also have to know the difference between different potentials in order to answer this type of question. The basic components of a molecule include electrons and the atom or group of atoms surrounding them. You will need to know the structure of the atom in order to answer this question.
Molecules consist of two basic elements: carbon and hydrogen. A few examples of this type of question include: “What is a molecule of carbon and hydrogen?” “How does a molecule of hydrogen and carbon change form?”
Various Solutions – There are three major groups of elements: electronegative, electroneutral, and electrospinous. The term “electronegative” refers to those elements that are easily polarized. This type of question will ask you to think about the fact that water is electronegative.
Electroneutral means that there are a variety of different materials that can be combined in the same way, even if they are electrically opposite. “Electrospinous” means that there are no electrical properties present in the substance. There are a number of examples of this type of question.
Metal Complexes – Metal complexes are simply different sources of electrons that are put together. This is not always the case. Some metals can be combined as easily as any other element, but others can be more difficult.
The most common example of a metal complex is the zinc/copper complex. You will see this question listed on many sample exam papers.
Alloys – A metal or alloys can be grouped together based on how they are able to create the ability to conduct electricity. The most common examples of these groups are tungsten and tantalum. The word “alloy” refers to “a bonded compound containing two or more metals or alloys”.
Alloys are used in the construction of metals such as jewelry and plumbing. Some metals can be created out of alloys as well. You will need to know the structure of alloys in order to understand the other ones.
